Qualification : MA (JNU), PhD (submitted) Aberdeen, UK
Specialization (not more than FIVE) :

EXPERIENCE :
With an undergraduate training (B.A) in Sociology (Honors) and Geography from 2000-03 at Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, India, I pursued a postgraduate (MA) degree in Sociology at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India from 2003-05 and then worked for four years (2005-09) in the different grassroots level Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) in diverse verticals like the Disabilities sector, Primary Education, Local Urban Governance, and Micro Finance. Thereafter, he spent a couple of years (2009-11) at IIT Kanpur on a research project dealing with local urban governance in Delhi and was trained in Urban Geography as a Visiting Commonwealth Scholar from 2011-12 at University College London (UCL), UK. Since 2012, I have been working as an Assistant Professor of Development Studies at the Central University of South Bihar, Gaya.
Firstly, my Doctoral research pursued at the University of Aberdeen, UK (2016-21), used visual methods and ethnographic tools to understand as to how in Dalit colonies of Delhi, the setting up of Resident Welfare Associations has facilitated the embeddedness of economic precarity and cultural marginality among subaltern groups. Secondly, I have also supervised over a dozen Masters’ Dissertations look into the implications of Gender, Technology and Urbanization on the (un)making of Critical Development Studies. Thirdly, my teaching expertise, which revolves around four key papers viz., a) Social Entrepreneurship, b) Corporate Social Responsibility, c) Urban Development and Planning and d) NGO Management, also draws heavily from my research exposure. Thus, emanating from my Teaching, Doctoral Research experience and a 4-year stint in the NGO sector across miscellaneous verticals, I have delivered talks and presented papers on various facets of Critical Development studies, in over two dozen universities in India and abroad and have published in reputed journals including the Economic and Political Weekly, Space & Polity and Regional Studies.
