Aditya Mohanty

Firstly, my Doctoral research pursued at the University of Aberdeen, UK (2016-21), used visual methods and ethnographic tools to understand as to how in Dalit colonies of Delhi, the setting up of Resident Welfare Associations has facilitated the embeddedness of economic precarity and cultural marginality among subaltern groups. Secondly, I have also supervised over a dozen Masters’ Dissertations look into the implications of Gender, Technology and Urbanization on the (un)making of Critical Development Studies. Thirdly, my teaching expertise, which revolves around four key papers viz., a) Social Entrepreneurship, b) Corporate Social Responsibility, c) Urban Development and Planning and d) NGO Management, also draws heavily from my research exposure. Thus, emanating from my Teaching, Doctoral Research experience and a 4-year stint in the NGO sector across miscellaneous verticals, I have delivered talks and presented papers on various facets of Critical Development studies, in over two dozen universities in India and abroad and have published in reputed journals including the Economic and Political Weekly, Space & Polity and Regional Studies.
