Dr. C.P. Thakur is a renowned physician in the country, who is known for his contribution in finding medication for Kala azar (Visceral leishmaniasis or black fever). During 2000-2002, he served as Union minister of Health and Family Welfare in the Government of India. He has published about 300 research articles in medical and clinical sciences
Established under the Central Universities Act, 2009 (Section 25 of 2009) as Central University of Bihar (CUB) and the name since changed by the Central Universities (Amendment) Act, 2014 to Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) is an institution of higher learning in the state of Bihar.
